Good morning everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Sandra, I'm a 41 year old attached mama to four in Ohio - ages 15 years to 1 year. We spread them out! I'm a free-range mama too, knowing how safe the world is and allowing my children to roam. I co-sleep, breastfeed, babywear, practice gentle discipline, and love being an attachment parent. I'm a photographer by trade. Glad to meet everyone!

According to Attachment Parenting International, "Attachment Parenting is a philosophy based in the practice of nurturing parenting practices that create strong emotional bonds, also known as secure attachment, between the infant and parent(s). This style of parenting encourages responsiveness to the infant or child's emotional needs, and develops trust that their emotional needs will be met. As a result, this strong attachment helps the child develop secure, empathic, peaceful, and enduring relationships."
Attachment parenting (or AP) is characterized by the following practices or ideals, although they are in no way "required" in order for parents to be practicing AP: Preparation for childbirth Emotional responsiveness Breastfeeding Babywearing Co-sleeping safely Avoiding frequent and prolonged separations between parents and a baby Positive discipline Maintaining balance in family life Join this group to discuss AP, learn about AP, and to find support from others practicing AP If you disagree with AP practices -- that's fine! We don't believe in any one right way to parent. But please refrain from using this group as a platform to put down AP. Also, please keep articles on-topic. Thank you, and welcome! Group Stats
